Wedding Bells at Bloomfield Farm
It was with pleasure that Bloomfield Farm was yesterday, host for the wedding of Kelly Jansen and Martin Bauer. Kelly is an employee at Bloomfield and also worked with Axel some years ago before making the decision to travel to Germany where she worked for Ulla Salzgeber. While living in Germany she met and fell in love with Martin. Both Martin and Kelly will return to Germany (Kelly after our breeding season) where they will begin life together as a married couple.
Congratulations to Martin and Kelly, and best wishes for a wonderful future together.

First Foals Born!
Our breeding season begun on 1st September and by the next morning we had our first foal born. An impressive colt by Royal Hit out of the imported mare Comtesse (Cordoba/Weltmeyer) owned by Judy Smith.
The following morning our second foal for the season arrived. An extremely elegant Royal Hit colt out of the imported mare, Duchess (De Niro / Reggazoni), also owned by Judy Smith.
Both of these foals are owned in partnership between Bloomfield Farm and Judy Smith. A third embryo transfer foal is due in the next week from Comtesse.
We have also had an exquisite Royal Hit filly born out of an Arabian mare. She is all class, with her long elegant legs, super movement and personality plus.
More photos of these foals and new arrivals will be added to the News Page and the Photo Galleries throughout the season.
Breeding Season Begins!
The breeding season is in full swing with orders for chilled semen already strong and visiting mares arriving almost daily. We would like to remind breeders that due to the high demand, it is imperitive that you keep us informed when you plan to breed your mare (ie when you plan to pg or when she is due to come into season etc), so that our collection days can be coordinated accordingly.
Royal Doruto - Bundeschampionate Finalist
The Royal Hit son, Royal Doruto was the only 4 year old Oldenburger Stallion to qualify for the Bundeschampionate and again displayed his amazing talent to qualify in equal 5th place for the Final. Unfortunately he didn't advance in the line up of the Final round but is still to be congratulated on an extraordinary effort at such a prestigious event. We will keenly await the 2009 Bundeschampionate and Royal Doruto in the 5 year old class!
Kris De Doncker Clinic Update
Kris is hopeful that he will be back in Australia in early December. Dates will be confirmed shortly. The registration of interest after our last News Update indicates that Kris will have no time for sleeping during his stay!
14th August 2008
Our good friend and brilliant rider, Kris De Doncker recently visited from Germany and during his stay he enjoyed a ride on both Royal Hit and San Rubin II. While Royal Hit is such an easy and elastic ride, he was also highly impressed with the quality of San Rubin II. The trainability is astounding and Kris is convinced, a very exciting competition career is ahead for San Rubin II when he returns to Germany.
Kris began riding at age 8 when he would ride his grandfather's Belgian Work Horse in the fields on his farm. He now has his own business training horses of all levels up to Grand Prix. He was a star pupil of the German Master, Klaus Balkenhol and is a qualified Bereiter with a Pferdewirtschaftsmeister (Master's Degree). Kris coached the Korean Equestrian Team in the Asian Games 2002 where they won team gold and individual gold.
With a very busy schedule at home in Germany, Kris has limited time available for trips to Australia, but he has promised he will try to make them more regularly and during his visits will be based at Bloomfield Farm and will be available for clinics. Access to the knowledge, coaching and advice from Kris will be a huge benefit to Australian riders.
While we look forward to Kris's next visit towards the end of the year, please contact us via email or our Enquiry Form to register your interest in attending future clinics. Priority will be given to those who register first.

Royal Doruto - Oldenburger Champion at Rastede!
Royal Doruto has just put in another brilliant performance to take out the Oldenburger 4 Year Old Stallion Championship at Rastede with a score of 9.17, a full point ahead of second place getter, Rohjuwel (Rohdiamant / Castro). Third place went to the Florencio / Donatelli son, Fragoli with a score of 8.08.
Royal Doruto's score of 9.17 was the highest score awarded over the entire event in the young horse classes.
Royal Doruto is attracting a lot of attention throughout Europe and is consistently talked about, being described as having absolute stand out qualities in terms of his rideability, movement and looks.
Congratulations to Royal Doruto and his breeder/owner, Volkhard Folkers.

We are thrilled to announce that Royal Hit will stay in Australia for one extra season, returning to Germany in February 2010. After months of negotiations we can now confirm this exciting news and are delighted to be able to offer Australian Breeders the extended opportunity to breed to Royal Hit. Being a direct descendant of the most influential broodmare in Oldenburger history, Elite mare Loretta, he carries the genetics for consistently producing exceptional horses. On top of the dam line is a sire line packed with super stars (Royal Dance, Rohdiamant, Donnerhall, Rubinstein) who are well known as consistent sires, as well as having successful careers in the competition ring.
News from Germany
The Royal Hit daughter, Comtessa has sold at the CHIO Auction for 92,000 Euro. She was second top price of the auction after a Licenced Stallion by Lord Loxley. Comtessa is out of a Dream of Heidelberg mare and is from Royal Hit's first foal crop.
The Royal Hit son, Royal Doruto is gaining a reputation, not only for his outstanding competition performances but also for his first foal crop success. At a recent show a Royal Doruto foal scored 9.5, 9.5 and 10.0 to easily qualify for the German Foal Championships. Breeders of these foals are over the moon with the resulting progeny. The temperaments are perfect and the movement sensational. There are 9 Royal Doruto's entered in a German Foal Show later this month.
The genetic influence of Royal Hit in consistently stamping his progeny, is also being reproduced by his progeny. He is a Sire that will reproduce through generations!
We often describe Royal Hit as a Genetic Masterpiece.
He has the QUALITY to BE It...ie He is the perfect example of his pedigree.
He has the ABILITY to DO It ...ie His 'Producer Power' is phenomenal.
He has the PROGENY to PROVE It! ...ie Consistent quality foals and his oldest are now consistently producing quality.
30th June 2008
Royal Doruto (Royal Hit / Rubinstein) is having an exceptional year in the competition ring as well as the breeding barn. He won at a recent competition with a score of 9.0, (scored 10 for the walk, 9.0 for the trot and 9.0 for the canter.) In the breeding barn he is in high demand, with semen been shipped throughout Europe. As a sire he is proving to be very consistent, with his foals showing the same quality traits that he has himself: impeccable temperament, super movement, correct conformation.
31st May 2008
The Royal Hit / Rubinstein son, Royal Doruto is continuing to be the Hot Topic in Germany. He is impressing all who see him (including the larger stallion stations), with his incredible movement and outstanding rideability/trainability. These qualities are consistent through the progeny of Royal Hit and are an absolute must for successful competition horses.

Our last foal for the season was born in the early hours of yesterday morning. A beautiful Royal Hit filly out of an Aachimedes mare. Once again the stamping qualities of Royal Hit are evident in this filly; the modern look, super shoulder and neck, leggy, uphill and super friendly nature. It is great to see the same quality traits are coming through, over a variety of mare types - from the older fashioned heavier type warmbloods, the more refined warmbloods, warmblood/thoroughbred crosses, straight thoroughbreds, and even straight egyptian arabians.

I am currently putting together a new "Foal Photo Gallery" which should be uploaded by the end of the week. As the name suggests this will be a gallery of foals from our 2007 crop. We invite all of our clients to send us their foal photos to include in the gallery.

We have some more additions to our foal crop, with the births of two more fillies. A stunning Royal Hit filly from a maiden Contango II / TB mare, and the first of our Embryo Transfer foals by San Rubin II / Argentinus / Grannus. Photos will be uploaded in the next few days.
26th November
Royal Hit has another 2 Licenced Stallion Sons from this years Licensing in Germany. The Oldenburger Licensing awarded the Royal Hit / Don Schufro son with the Licensed status, while in Mecklenburg, the Royal Hit / Sandro Hit son was also Licensed.
Royal Hit now has a total of 5 Licensed Sons over his first two seasons.
The Oldenburger Licensing was again dominated by Sandro Hit, with Champion awarded to a Sandro Hit / Donnerhall / Classiker son. Reserve Champion went to a Sir Donnerhall / Rubinstein son whilst Second Reserve was awarded to a Florencio / Feinbrand son.
Of the 55 Dressage Candidates, 33 were Licensed and of those 33 Licensed an amazing 17 carry the invaluable blood of the Elite mare, Loretta (dam of Royal Hit, Sandro Hit and Diamond Hit). A total of 9 colts were awarded Premium with 6 of them being descendants of Loretta. There is no surprise that Loretta is described as the most influential dam in Oldenburger history.
Another pleasant reminder of how lucky we are to have her son, Royal Hit, here in Australia in the flesh!!
14th November
The second San Rubin II foal was born last night. Delighted clients from Western Victoria, phoned this morning with the exciting news of a stunning black filly. She is described as elegant, leggy, a wonderful type with head and neck similar to San Rubin II's first born colt. We are anxiously awaiting photos to upload to our site.
In the meantime, another photo of the San Rubin II colt.
11th November
The first San Rubin II foals have been eagerly awaited and it has been well worth the wait, with his first foal impressing all who have seen him. We are now keenly awaiting more foals later in the month.

Royal Hit son has Performance Test Success!
The Royal Hit son, Royal Doruto has just completed his 30 Day test and has outscored all participants overall for his Movement. His scores of 9.0 for walk and 8.75 for canter were the highest out of the group of 30 young stallions which included the 2006 Reserve Champion Oldenburger, Swarovski (by Sandro Hit) and the Diamond Hit son, Diamonit. Royal Doruto also had impressive scores of 8.38 for the trot and 8.5 for rideability.
It is great to see this young stallion doing so well, especially in the gaits (walk and canter) where it is so important in the competition arena, to have natural talent.
7th November
San Rubin II's first foal was born early this morning. A black colt that is beyond all our imaginable expectations. He is the most typey foal we have ever seen, ultra modern with long elegant legs, supurb body and an incredible head and neck. He resembles a beautiful porcelain figurine!
Photos will be uploaded shortly.
The mare is owned by Paul Jaeger and is an Irish Sport Horse who has been a permanent member of our broodmare herd for the last few years. She is currently for sale (details on our Broodmare page).
5th November
Our first Royal Hit foal was born in the early hours of Saturday morning. The beautiful chestnut filly out of a Falkland Victory mare is simply stunning. She is an elegant type with excellent conformation, and an abundance of confidence which is allowing her friendly personality to shine through. At this early stage it appears that her movement will also be of top class.
The quality traits of Royal Hit have definately come through in this filly and we are extremely excited about the coming arrivals over the next couple of months.
Royal Hit / Falkland Victory
Within 30 hours of her birth, we had 58mm of rain so the above photo was taken on Day 2.
20th October
A Royal Hit / Don Schufro son has joined the stables of Tony and Sarah Pidgley in Windsor, Great Britain. Also joining the Pidgley stables are the stallions, Rosario and Diamonit, and the 2007 Bundeschampion, Samira (Sandro Hit), the stunning black mare who achieved record scores from judges at the Bundeschampionate.
With an obvious eye for talent, Mr Pidgley took no chances and bought the Royal Hit colt before he was due to be auctioned recently in Germany.
We will keenly watch as he matures and begins his career under saddle in the next few years.
18th October
We are thrilled to announce the news of our new neighbours, Robert Goodwin and Ebony Tucker. Robert & Ebony recently purchased the adjoining property, and will be known as Windsor Farm. They have huge plans to expand their already successful business, which includes breaking in, training and preparing horses as well as agistment.
Windsor Farm and Bloomfield Farm are now able to offer clients the complete package; from breeding or purchasing young horses through to breaking in and training.

Encouraging Start to the Season
Feed Production is vitally important at Bloomfield Farm, and the crops and pastures that were seeded in the Autumn have resulted in an abundance of high quality feed for our horses. We have already baled half of our year's requirements with more paddocks on target to produce the remainder in the next 2 months.
Barley / Rye Grass Crop
Positive Pregnancy news is always wonderful to hear and so far this season we have had 100% success in our own mares and clients mares.
Embryo Transfers have also had great success this season, with positive pregnancies confirmed in 100% of embryo flushes so far.
This Season's Foals will soon be arriving with the first group of mares due early November. The mares are looking exceptionally well, with some showing signs of foaling sooner. We are eagerly awaiting our first crop of Royal Hit and San Rubin II foals.
Equine Influenza has had a disastrous effect on a large number of horse studs as well as the smaller breeders, and competitors in NSW and QLD. Our thoughts are with you during this stressful and sad time, where the losses of mares and foals along with loss of income needed to survive is having a detrimental effect.
21st September
Equine Influenza / Chilled Semen Update:
We have just had confirmation that as from Tuesday 25th September, Western Australia will be allowing Chilled Semen into the state provided it is not coming from Restricted Areas (RA), Dangerous Contact Premises (DCP) or Suspect Premises (SP).
Tasmanian breeders will need a Permit before tranporting Chilled Semen into the state. Click Here to go to the Tasmanian DPI site to download the form.
Currently all other States and Territories have no restrictions on accepting Chilled Semen from Victoria.
17th September
Important Notice for WA Breeders:
The Western Australian Department of Agriculture has recently decided to ban all chilled semen from entering the state, regardless of where in Australia it originates from and regardless of the fact that EI is not transferrable through semen. It has been confirmed that the decision will be reviewed on 30th September 2007. Please contact us if you require further information or the contact numbers of the relative department for updates.
10th September
Royal Hit has some very exciting 2 year olds coming through this year and will be well represented at this year's Oldenburger Licensing. Please click below to view short clips of two sons.
5th September
Equine Influenza Update
After confirmation from the DPI we are pleased to be able to assure breeders that chilled semen will continue to be available for supply Australia wide as per the normal procedure.
Due to the potentially high risks involved and under guidance and advice from the DPI and veterinarians, we have decided not to accept visiting mares to the stud at this stage. Apart from the risks to our own horses, there is considerable risk with visiting mares being in contact with other visiting mares. We would not be able to guarantee your mare's health amongst other visiting mares etc.
We have no choice but to ensure the health of our stallions, thus ensuring the availabillity of semen via transported chilled semen. Whilst EI is unlikely to be transferred through semen, the quality of the semen is greatly reduced if stallions become infected, and can take up to 2 months to return to normal. It is vital that we take every precaution necessary to ensure our stallions are able to meet the demands of the breeding season, whilst also meeting our obligations (duty of care) with Schockemohle.
As we are a stud farm and given the timing of the situation, we have many foals (which can be fatally afftected by EI) so every effort to keep our farm free from Equine Influenza must be taken.
We will be reviewing the situation weekly and will announce any changes to our decisions on this News page.
We sincerely apologize to those breeders who were planning on sending their mares to the stud. We will be going out of our way to make sure everything still goes smoothly with your mare's breeding through your preferred veterinarian.
If you have any queries in regards to breeding your mare and EI please contact Axel on 0408 744 064.

Royal Hit Results at Westphalen Elite Mare Show
Two Royal Hit daughters were presented at the Westphalen Elite Mare Show, with the Royal Hit/Florestan daughter, Recife achieving 1b, and Royal Rose (Royal Hit/Larome) awarded 1i in their heat.
The Final was dominated by Westphalen Sires with the Fidermark daughter, Fergana, awarded Champion.

Royal Hit Daughters' Success at Rastede
Once again, Royal Hit has made headlines with the success of his daughters at the famous Elite Mare Show in Rastede. Of the 55 mares qualified for the show, there were 3 Royal Hit daughters. Only 22 mares qualified for the Brilliant Ring, with 2 Royal Hit's in the line up.
We are delighted to report that one of the Royal Hit daughters, Comtessa, out of a Dream of Heidelberg mare, finished in the Top 10. The other daughter, out of a Prince Thatch xx mare also did extremely well to finish in the Brilliant Ring.
Royal Hit was the only 'first season sire' to have multiple representatives in the Final. Sandro Hit was represented by 3 mares in the Brilliant Ring however none of them made it into the top 10. Another popular stallion, Stedinger, was tipped to do very well with 4 mares qualified for the show, but only one made the Brilliant ring and finished in the bottom half of the 22.
The success of the Royal Hit mares is extremely exciting, even more so when you consider these mares are from Royal Hit's first foal crop, where as a first season sire, wasn't as heavily used as stallions such as Stedinger, and other proven sires such as Don Schufro and Sandro Hit. To have Top 10 Success AND Multiple Representatives in the Brilliant Ring is just awesome. It's hard to believe this extraordinary Stallion is here in our barn!
The Westphalen Elite Mare Show is being held on Monday 23rd July. Two Royal Hit daughters are qualified to compete for Elite Status. We will eagerly await the results.
30th June 2007
The AWHA recently held their GALA show in Queensland with a great display of warmbloods. A Royal Hit yearling filly, Jaybee Royal Princess out of an Aachimedes mare won her class and then went on to win Champion Led Warmblood. Congratulations to John and Bev Edwards from Jaybee Farm on their lovely filly.
25th June 2007
San Rubin II has now had 22 sessions since the beginning of the 'breaking in' process and is making fantastic progress. From day one he showed great rhythym and was extremely balanced even with the new weight of a rider. This rhythym and balance has continued to improve with every ride, and his self carriage and willing attitude makes him a very rideable horse. San Rubin II has 3 quality gaits which have not been compromised under saddle. Robert Goodwin is doing a fantastic job with him and is also highly impressed with the qualities of the young stallion. The base of the Training Scale is now very well established, with every ride further consolidating the imperitave requirements, relaxation, rhythym, freedom of movement and contact.
31st May 2007
Royal Hit Sires Third Licensed Stallion son.
A third son from Royal Hit's first foal crop has been Oldenburger Licensed. Royal Doruto was not presented at the main licensing due to an illness at the time, but has since been assessed and Licensed. A conversation with the owner has revealed Royal Doruto is another fine example of the exceptional qualities Royal Hit is producing in every area. The three year old is now under saddle and oozes rideability along with 3 absolute correct gaits, and a faultless temperament. Royal Doruto is from a Rubinstein/Trakehner mare family who has also produced highly successful dressage horses.
During Axel's telephone conversation, the owner also mentioned that he had been to the recent mare performance testing and confirmed the Royal Hit daughters were stand-outs, possessing the same charismatic qualities of their father. Anyone who has visited our stud will be aware of the amazing aura that Royal Hit exudes. It is something that really can't be descibed in words.
The owner of Royal Doruto summed it up at the end of his conversation with Axel by saying "You have a stallion in your barn that is like no other in this World".
More photos of Royal Doruto on the Royal Hit page.
31st May 2007
The construction of our new stables is well under way, with Axel once again working tirelessly to have them finished on schedule. His constant striving for improvement, has seen Axel design and build a number of stable complexes, each time improving on the last. His latest design is certainly no exception, with safety and comfort of the horses a priority. In the coming weeks when the first stage of the stables is complete, we will upload some photos to the Photo Gallery.

Royal Hit sires State Premium mares from his first foal crop!
The progeny of Royal Hit are gaining popularity at an amazing pace, due to the consistent quality he is producing. At Germany's Oldenburger mare performance testing of 3 and 4 year olds, Royal Hit was well represented with 5 daughters from his first foal crop (all 3 year olds). Four mares were awarded State Premium status with three of them being selected for the Oldenburger Elite Mare Show in Rastede. The four State Premium daughters are out of Classiker, Dream of Heidelberg, Prince Thatch xx and Donnerschwee mares. Another daughter out of a Prince Thatch xx mare was awarded Verband Premium.
Having five daughters from his first foal crop gain Premium status is a sensational result for Royal Hit and a pleasant reminder of the world class stallion we have standing in Australia.
