San Rubin II is progressing extremely well and taking everything in his stride, with his new life under saddle. Robert Goodwin has started him off and is highly impressed with San Rubin II in every way, from his type, movement and the extreme trainability. The willingness of this horse is truly remarkable.

Since his arrival, we have noticed big changes in San Rubin II's physical appearance, as he matures into a wonderful stallion. There is no doubt, an exciting future awaits San Rubin II.

7th May 2007

We've returned home again after a fantastic few days at Horsley Park for the Sydney CDI. Royal Hit was presented twice and won the hearts of many of the spectators. Breeders, judges and competitors (including some of Australia's top riders) were consistently commenting on the pure class and quality of Royal Hit. A number of people made the trip to Horsley Park specifically to see Royal Hit, and were very glad they did, as they were all extremely impressed. It seems there were a lot of people impressed with Axel's running ability too!

By Saturday evening the atmosphere was amazing, with the stands overflowing with people eager to watch the evening's events, and very appreciative of the stallion display with clapping, cheering and whistling, even wolf-whistles (I'm still not sure if they were for Royal Hit or Axel!).

After witnessing the crowds, the standard of riding, quality and presentation of horses and sportsmanship of the competitors, it's great to see our sport is progressing in Australia. We hope that all breeders, riders and organisors Australia wide, will continue to work together towards the continual improvement in all areas of equestrian sport.

The popularity of Royal Hit was reflected in the Stallion Service Tender with his service receiving the most interest. The last we heard, there were multiple highest bids of $2000.

We would like to congratulate all those competitors who had success, and the organisors and volunteers for putting on such a wonderful event. The facilities, along with the professional organisation made the entire time spent there a great experience. A special congratulations to Robbie Soster, who finished 2nd in the Young Rider Freestyle on her cremello gelding, Robali Irish Cream. Robbie is a young up and coming rider who is so dedicated to her riding, and a pleasure to watch.

The top priced foal of the auction was a Sandro Hit / Florestan colt for 53,000 Euro. Two of the top 4 foals were sired by Sandro Hit . Highest price of the auction was 280,000 Euro, paid for the Showjumping Stallion, Carlucci (Contendro / Gluecksstern).

12th April 2007

Royal Hit going to Sydney!

Royal Hit will be on display at the Sydney CDI on 4th & 5th May 2007. After numerous requests we've decided to make the trip to NSW to present Royal Hit and give spectators and clients the opportunity to see him in the flesh. A stallion service will be up for tender, along with a number of other Australian based stallions. Full details will be available in the CDI Programme, Website and at the event.

San Rubin II is about to begin his training under saddle, so will not be making the NSW trip.

24th March 2007

San Rubin, 2005 Bundeschampion and older brother of our San Rubin II has made the news again with results of an online service fee auction earlier this month, where he was one of 26 stallions with services up for auction. San Rubin's service made the highest price of $2,260 US, more than double what was paid for Lingh. After comparing his owners comments it is appearing that San Rubin and San Rubin II are very much like 'peas in a pod'. They can be described practically identical in terms of quality of gaits, trainability, character and almost flawless temperament. There are 5 full siblings so far in the family, giving proof that their breeder could see the fantastic combination of Sandro Hit with his Rubinstein/Aleppo mare.

17th March 2007

Royal Hit's First Public Appearance a Hit!

We're back home after a great day at the AWHA Gala Day. Royal Hit was presented at the lunch break and looked spectacular. His impeccable temperament was on display throughout the entire day and is a pleasant reminder of just how easy he is to get along with. He is such a hassle free, willing to please kind of horse. It was great to see so many of the spectators busy clicking away with their cameras, and then coming down onto the arena when invited by Axel for a closer look. A Service to Royal Hit was auctioned to raise money to help the AWHA cover costs of running the event and the final bid of $2100 was paid.

8th March 2007

Royal Hit Service up for Auction!

The AWHA will be auctioning a Service to Royal Hit at their Annual Show on 17th March. This could be a great opportunity to secure a service at a good price.

15th February 2007

Royal Hit will make his first public appearance since his arrival in Australia. A special presentation at Werribee Park will take place during the AWHA show in March. Spectators will have the opportunity to view this magnificent stallion in the flesh.

At the completion of the breeding season, San Rubin II will begin his training under saddle. His willingness to learn and remarkable temperament should reflect in his training. Regular updates on his progress will feature on our website.

1st February 2007

Donner Carina, Champion of Champions at Dressage With The Stars in 2005 and 2006 has been bred to Royal Hit for the purpose of Embryo Flushing. Owner, Andrea Beatty plans to breed quality foals from her Champion mare, along with other magnificent mares from her stables, whilst they continue their successful ridden careers.

20th January 2007

The last of our stud mares foaled last night with a beautiful filly to add to a wonderful collection for the season. The foaling alarms can now be packed away for another year!

Positive pregnancies are always great news for both mare owners and ourselves and there has been plenty of that great news, despite the dryer conditions.

High profile breeders and many quality mares are making the most of Royal Hit and San Rubin II's limited time in Australia, with chilled semen being regularly supplied for embryo flushing.

19th January 2007

The Royal Hit son, Royal Rythmik who was Premium Licensed Stallion at the Westphalen Licensing 2006 is currently leased to the Westphalen State Stud and was recently presented, already under saddle, at their Stallion Presentation. He is making headlines on the German forums, being consistently described as having so much elasticity, self carriage, impulsion and rythym, hence his name 'Royal Rythmik'. Comments and predictions of him being a future Bundeschampion are making everybody take notice of this striking liver chestnut young stallion.

21st December 2006

We are very excited to finally announce a New Location for Bloomfield Farm. We have secured a magnificent property only 6km from the Princes Freeway and 10km from Warragul. Perfectly suited to horse breeding, the property has the required flats for safely growing youngsters. The high standard that Axel is known for with the design and construction of previous properties will continue at the new premises, with plans for the existing large shedding to be fitted out with stables after the busy breeding season. The Indoor Arena will allow for future events being hosted in comfort at any time of the year. A quarantine area for imported mares is already in existence with only minor changes required.

Whilst there is a horse crush already, there is not sufficient yards at this stage to safely perform the breeding work for large numbers of visiting mares. The high demand of Royal Hit and San Rubin II since their arrival a fortnight ago has meant we haven't had time to immediately build yards and a breeding area similar to what Axel built at his Nilma North property. Until these improvements have been completed, visiting mares will still be bred by Axel at his old property.

4th December 2006

They've Arrived!

It is with great pleasure and pride that we announce our Stud Stallions, Royal Hit and San Rubin II have arrived at Bloomfield Farm after the five week journey from Germany. The anticipation as the truck arrived late last night, soon turned into overwhelming excitement as Axel led them off the truck and into the stables. The world class quality of these stallions just oozes from them. The vibes you feel, simply by being in their presense is simply awesome. Both stallions have started their stud duties already, with impeccable manners making working with them a breeze.

30th November 2006

Premium Licensed Son for Royal Hit!!

Royal Hit has produced his second licensed son this year. The Westphalen Stallion Licensing has just completed with 50 Licensed Stallions selected from an original 520 candidates. The Royal Hit / Rouletto / Inschallah AA colt was impressive from day one with talk of a future Bundeschampion amongst the comments. The tall liver chestnut is the first Premium and second licensed son from Royal Hit's first foal crop, and has now been leased to the Westphalen State Stud.

Champion Stallion was an Ehrentusch son out of a Ferragamo / Florestan mare. The 1st Reserve was a Fidermark/Rockwell son and 2nd Reserve was Lord Loxley/Lancer II.

Sandro Hit had another two sons that made the licensing, bringing his Licensed son tally to well over 70 stallions.

26th November 2006

Sandro Hit Dominates Oldenburger Licensing!

Sandro Hit sons and grandsons have dominated the Oldenburger Licensing for 2006. Champion Stallion was by the Sandro Hit son Stedinger out of a Quattro B mare. We saw this extraordinary colt in the second week of our trip to Germany in August. He was very impressive then, but not for sale. The 1st Reserve and 2nd Reserve were both Sandro Hit sons. Two other Sandro Hit son's and one grandson (through Sunny Boy) were awarded Premium Licensed Stallions. Another two sons and one grandson were also licensed. In total Sandro Hit was represented by 4 Premium Licensed sons, 2 Premium Licensed grandsons, 2 Licensed sons and 1 Licensed grandson.

Royal Hit son Licensed!

From his first foal crop, Royal Hit has produced his first Licensed Oldenburger son. Out of a Thoroughbred/Warmblood mare, the upstanding, free and powerful moving colt is a fine example of what Royal Hit produces. In a line up of colts that have been described as the best group of stallion candidates ever presented for the Oldenburger Licensing, being recognized and licensed is a wonderful achievement.

The Oldenburger Licensing began this year with 366 candidates entered for pre-selection in October. After a week of assessments the field was narrowed down to 83 outstanding colts. This selection then participated in the main licensing which began on 23rd November. On the final day 36 colts were recognized and awarded as Licensed Oldenburger Stallions.

18th November 2006

They've Arrived! San Rubin II and Royal Hit have arrived in Sydney quarantine after a smooth flight from the UK. Both stallions travelled well and have settled into the quarantine station. They will spend the next two weeks in quarantine before the final stage of their journey to Bloomfield Farm.

12th November 2006

We would like to say Thank you to all of you who introduced yourselves to us at DJWTS at Werribee, and of course to all of the existing clients, it was great to catch up with you again. The positive response and excitement that's building about our 'soon to arrive' Stallions has been fantastic.

Those of you who watched the young dressage horse competition would have heard the judges consistent comments about the lack of elasticity and swing in the back, and lack of hind quarter impulsion from a large number of the horses presented. It's very exciting to know that Royal Hit is a proven producer of those imperitive qualities in a good dressage horse, and we look forward to a few years down the track when we have these youngsters entering the competition arena.

7th November 2006

Video footage of a Royal Hit son who has been pre-selected for Oldenburger licensing can be viewed from our Royal Hit page.

29th October 2006

Sandro Hit has added another 2 sons to his list of Licensed Sons after the Hannoverian Licensing in Germany took place over the weekend. There are a number of sons pre-selected for the Oldenburg and Westphalen licensing which is coming up in November and December.

17th October 2006

Negotiations on our second Imported Stallion for 2006 are almost complete. The exciting announcement will be made within 24 hours.

4th October 2006

We are extremely excited to announce the first of our Imported Stallions for 2006.

San Rubin II is preparing for quarantine and is due to arrive in Australia in November. In partnership with Paul Schockemoehle, we have secured this exceptional young Sandro Hit / Rubinstein son, to stand at stud at Bloomfield Farm. Exciting future plans for this stallion include his return to Germany, after a couple of seasons in Australia, to compete against the world's best.

Please go to our Stallions page for more details.

28th September 2006

The veterinary checks have gone well on the first of the stallions. Negotiations are being finalized now, hopefully allowing us to make the long awaited announcement within a week. If all goes well he will go straight into quarantine and be ready for breeding in Australia by mid to late November. Finalizing our second stallion will more that likely require another trip to Germany next month, with our aim to have him in Australia by mid December.

9th September 2006

As we are settling back into our daily routine, we are very pleased to confirm vet checks have been organized for late next week, on a sensational stallion prospect that we discovered in our last week overseas. We have everything crossed that the vet check will go well.

4th September 2006

It is the eve of our return home and in the last week we have managed to add a few more kilometres to the trip meter. It now reads over 8000km, which for anyone familiar with the size of Germany would know, we have covered the majority of the country. In the last week we have found a number of promising stallion candidates. Further inspection and negotiations may require a return trip!

Our time here has been a great experience. From the Oldenburg, Westphalen and Hannoverian Foal Auctions, to the World Equestrian Games and of course the inspection of hundreds of stallion prospects, the four weeks have been packed with excitement.

After seeing such a large number of horses in the flesh, it has been very interesting to see the characteristics of different bloodlines, and the evidence of what lines mix well, and not so well. There is no doubt that the stallions who produce well come from very strong mare lines. Mare lines in particular carrying Pik Bube I, Rubinstein and Weltmeyer blood are producing very well, and lines that include Loretta (dam of Sandro Hit) will always be worthy.

The number of people who have registered to be on the mailing list has been overwhelming, and we would like to thank you for your interest. You can expect regular updates on our latest stallion news via email.

We look forward to chatting with you about our trip in more detail when we arrive back in Australia.

28th August 2006

We would like to thank all of our website visitors and clients for their interest, and patience with the announcement of our imported stallions.

Since arriving in Germany in early August, every possible minute has been spent inspecting hundreds of stallion candidates from all over Germany and Holland. We have an extremely strict criteria that stallions must meet before standing at stud in Australia.

Correct conformation and movement, along with rideabilty and temperament is imperitative. Faults in conformation are quite commonly genetic, and these faults are also quite often the underlying cause of problems with movement. These conformation faults will more than likely appear in the progeny of such stallions, and it is because of this that we won't bring a stallion to Australia with these sort of problems.

After narrowing down our selection to what we considered the best of what we saw, veterinary checks were organised. Fertility tests, blood tests, full x-rays, heart, lungs etc all need to be A1.

Unfortunately the best stallion candidates have failed the veterinary examination. Skeletel problems have made it impossible for us to go ahead with the purchase.

Whilst it would be easy to just bring home the 'next best' horse, we feel it would not be in the best interest of our clients, our own breeding program and Australian breeding in general, to import a second or third choice stallion.

We are extending our time here in Europe to continue our search. Our aim is still to import within the next couple of months, making the stallions available for breeding by mid November.

Once again we sincerely thank you for your patience, and apologize for any inconvenience caused.

We welcome you to check our site for updates or alternatively submit an enquiry form and we will inform you via email of the latest news.

25th August 2006

We have just arrived back at the hotel after a fantastic day at the World Equestrian Games. The crowd was just amazing, with 45,000 packed into the stands to watch the world's best riders and horses compete in the Grand Prix. It was great to see Isabelle Werth and Satchmo, do the best test of their life, to take the gold medal from the 'hard to beat' Anky Van Grunsven with Salinero.

22nd August 2006

Our trip meter is now reading 4300km. On our travels we stopped to look at most of the Hannoveraian auction of 300+ foals. A Sandro Hit/Donnerhall colt was top price at 103,000Euro selling on Day 2 of the 3 day auction. There were a good number of quality foals, including a Fidertanz/De Vito colt selling for 85,000Euro (to Australia).

We're heading toward Aachen in the next few days to watch some of the world's best dressage talent. From what we've been told, the atmosphere is just amazing.

15th August 2006

To say we have been busy would be an understatement. Six days after arriving in Germany, we have done 2500+ km of travel in our hired car, and inspected around 100 stallion prospects, (with plenty more on the list). In between all of these we have managed to have a look at the Oldenburger Elite Foal Auction and the Westfalen Foal Auction.

Top price at the Oldenburger Auction was 110,000 Euro ($180,000AU approx), for a Furst Heinrich/Donnerhall son. Auctioneer, Uwe Heckman was performing at his best, keeping the crowd glued to their seats for the 98 lots. Other notable sales were 62,000 Euro for a beautiful Fidertanz/De Niro filly, 50,000Euro for a Welt Hit II/Noble Roi xx filly, and 40,000Euro for a Solitair/Contentro colt.

The Westfalen Auction also had some impressive foals. It was a case of saving the best for last with Lot 91 going for 65,000Euro. A very impressive Furst Piccolo son out of a Laurentianer mare. A very nice Florencio/Worldy filly sold for 34,000Euro. There were a number of good Furst Heinrich's, Sandro Hit's, Florestan's, and Florencio's selling for 15,000 - 25,000Euro.

9th August 2006

Keep an eye on our Website for the latest news during our trip to Europe. While in Germany we intend going to the 2006 World Equestrian Games, and a number of Foal Championships. In between these events we will be visiting many Studs and making the most of some expert coaching from some of the worlds finest.

Of course the first thing to pack for this trip will be the laptop, (along with riding boots and jodphurs), so regular updates to the site can be expected.

10th July 2006

Due to unforeseen circumstances, our trip to Europe for Final Stallion inspection has been delayed until August 2006. Quarantine regulations and flight availability means the first of our stallions will not be available in Australia until Mid October. We will be making the Official Announcement of the stallion on this Website on 28th August 2006. We will also be extending our Introductory Service Fee offer until the end of October 2006. Check our Stallions page for details.

20th June 2006

The eagerly awaited announcement of our new imported stallion will be posted on this site by 1st August 2006. Please check our stallions page for all the info.

12th March 2006

Sirocco Filly Leads Ace Assessment Tour

The Sirocco filly, Nukku Park Scarlett, bred by Clive and Sue Cherry of Poowong, Victoria, blitzed all foals assessed in the 2006 Assessment Tour. Out of a Dutchman mare, Scarlett scored an impressive 80.5% for conformation, and an amazing 88% for movement, bringing her overall score to 84.25%. The highest overall score recorded in any class.
