Read what People are saying about Amarouk progeny
Amarouk has been bred from some of the best bloodlines in Holland in both his Sire and Dam. He has 2 full brothers in Holland, Emerald S who is competing with great success at Inter I level and quickly heading toward Grand Prix. The other brother is Fellini, who was Licensed at the KWPN Licensing in 2013 finishing in the Top 5. A share in this stallion was later sold for 380,000 euros.
The sire, Ampere is a noble and elegant stallion with a beautiful head, a very handsome stallion with a great dressage type and a striking appearance. Ampère has a well formed neck, correctly placed shoulders, his withers are well developed and have good length, and his legs are strong and perfectly proportioned to his body. He scored 8, 9, 9.5 for his gaits. His walk is very clean and consistent and he covers ground easily. The trot is big, well balanced and powerful. The canter is dynamic, uphill, big and well balanced. Test riders scored him 9, 8,5, 9.9): Ampère moves with a lot of natural balance and suppleness, with very strong hindlegs. He also has a very good and natural self-carriage. As a dressage horse, Ampère has a lot of talent and he gives the rider a very good feeling. He is an honest, reliable and sensible stallion, with a very good work ethic.
Ampère won the Dutch performance test – the 70 days performance test in Ermelo – in 2008, with very high scores (walk 8; trot 9; canter 9,5; ridability 9; talent as dressage horse 9). During the test, riders praised him as the best horse they had ridden in years. Fortunately, he passes his exceptional gaits on to his offspring.
His sire, Rousseau, was reserve world champion of the young dressage horses in Verden in 2003. Rousseau’s sons, Wamberto, Blue Hors Zack and Ampère, were the Dutch licensing winners three years in a row!
Ampère’s dam sire, Flemmingh, counts as a producer of international top horses like Krack C (Anky van Grunsven) and Lingh (Edward Gal). Flemmingh produced the young stallion champion of the Oldenburg licensing in Vechta in 2009. Ampère’s dam line has produced both breeding stallions and a great number of competition horses for both jumping and dressage, like the licensed stallions Mythos (Mytens xx – Farn) and Gringo (Ramiro – Amor).
Amarouk’s dam, Anouk was a Finalist in the PAVO Cup as a 5 year old. She has produced the Licensed KWPN stallion Fellini and his full brother Emerald S (who are full brothers to Amarouk). Anouk is a 3/4 sibling to the sensational stallion Dark President. The granddam of Anouk and Dark President also produced the famous Dutch stallion, Houston.
Amarouk is an incredible natured stallion with stunning looks and 3 fantastic gaits. He has amazing power behind with a natural ability to sit and carry. He is elastic, expressive and steps under in all gaits. He has produced a small number of foals for us in his first season, and they are all very much stamped with his super temperament and willingness, strength through the body and excellent movement.
Amarouk sadly has not been started under saddle, due to a paddock injury he sustained as a yearling, which resulted in significant muscular damage to his hindquarter. Thankfully this has had no effect on his siring abilities.
Top Dutch bloodlines are available in Australia through Amarouk, producing foals of a very high standard who we have no doubt will be extremely competitive in the competition ring.
